Our Santé Initiative team was in Luwero District for the official launch of our community eye health program, held in partnership with the District Health Office (DHO). The launch marked a significant step in our mission to make affordable, high-quality vision care accessible to everyone, particularly in underserved communities.
The initiative focuses on extending access to affordable vision care services, including reading glasses, community eye screenings, and public awareness on vision health. Working closely with local health authorities and Village Health Teams (VHTs), the program aims to strengthen existing systems and promote sustainable community outreach.
A Partnership for Sustainable Impact
These photos capture the teamwork, engagement, and commitment that went into bringing our vision access program closer to the community. We remain grateful for the support from the District Health Office team and everyone who contributed to making this partnership a reality. Together, we’re laying the foundation for stronger, more accessible vision care for all.
Step by step, partnerships like these move Uganda closer to a future where everyone can access quality eye care.

Strengthening Collaboration with the Ministry of Health
Continued engagement on the ground remains essential. Our Santé Initiative team, together with officials from the Ministry of Health, visited the Luwero District Health Office to discuss practical ways of expanding accessible and affordable vision care at the community level. The engagement focused on integrating primary eye care into routine services, improving referral pathways, and supporting local health structures to reach more people in need.
We appreciate the leadership and openness of the Luwero DHO team. Strengthening community health systems starts with collaboration and together, we’re bringing a clear vision and better health closer to every home.
